PHILADELPHIA (973espn.com) - Wide receiver Jordan Matthews was among the Eagles' inactives for Sunday’s season finale against the Dallas Cowboys

Matthews has been dealing with a persistent ankle injury for the past month or so and although he's played through it, the veteran hasn't been nearly as effective as usual.

With nothing on the line Sunday, it's probably a prudent decision to shut Matthews down and he will finish his third NFL season with 73 receptions for 804 yards and three touchdowns. The yardage, along with an 11.0 yards per reception, are both career lows for the Vanderbilt product.

Also missing the game against Dallas were starting left guard Allen Barbre, who is dealing with a hamstring injury, as well as linebacker Mychal Kendricks, who injured his quad in practice earlier this week.

Rookie Isaac Seumalo was announced as the starter at left guard, a bit of a surprise because Doug Pederson claimed during the week that veteran Stefen Wisniewski would continue to man the position if Barbre was unable to go with Seumalo mixing in.

Meanwhile, Paul Turner will handle Matthews’ slot position.

The other Philadelphia inactives were more run of the mill, including recently signed cornerback Dwayne Gratz as well as backup offensive linemen Josh Andrews and Dillon Gordon, and defensive tackle Taylor Hart.
