Middle Township, NJ Boys Basketball Coach Tom Feraco Steps Down
Tom Feraco, 63, one of the most successful basketball coaches in South Jersey history, announced that he will not return for the 2021-2022 season as coach of the Middle Township High School boys basketball team.
In his final season with the Panthers, Feraco finished the COVID-19 shortened season with a 2-4 record, ending his remarkable career with a record with a career record of 733-270.
Feraco walked the sidelines of Middle Twp. from 1981-2016 before stepping down after 35 years on the sideline. He returned to the sidelines and coached the Panthers again starting in 2019, before stepping down on Wednesday.
Back in the 2013-2014 season, Feraco stepped away in early January to undergo treatment for prostate cancer, almost one month later that year he was cancer-free. He made his return at the Shoot Down Cancer Classic on Feb. 8 2014 in a game against Cherry Hill West.
Feraco is one of the top coaches in Cape-Atlantic League boys basketball coaches and was well respected by the South Jersey basketball community and surrounded himself with talented and dedicated assistants, helping his teams win three state championships, going to nine South Jersey championships along the way.
His impact on the Panther program will always be felt, as the team's court is named after Feraco.
