Millville-Toms River North to Meet at Battle at the Beach in Ocean City, NJ

Another monster matchup as been added to the Battle at the Beach football showcase in Ocean City this August.

It features a pair of state champions with Millville, the Group 4 champ, taking on Group 5 champion Toms River North at Carey Stadium.

The game will take place Friday night, Aug 25.

The game is a rematch of the 2016 Group 5 title game won by Millville, 22-16, snapping a 22-game Toms River win streak.

The 2016 win gave the Thunderbolts their second sectional title and first since 1975. Since then, they have turned into one of the top public school programs in the state.

The Thunderbolts won the inaugural State Championship by defeating Northern Highlands 18-14 in the NJSIAA Group 4 Final at Rutgers.

Toms River North won the Group 5 title with a 28-7 win over Passaic Tech.
