The use of profanity has become more commonplace in daily English vernacular in the United States than at any point in history.

A study of Business Conference Calls found that the use of cuss words rose by 80 percent from 2018 to 2021.  Also, the use of the F-word increased by 43.4 percent on Television shows from 2021 to 2022.

While some people will point to the COVID-19 Lockdowns leading to the erosion of many people's social skills, a survey by Associated Press-Ipsos in 2006 revealed that 74 percent of Americans encounter profanity in public frequently and 64 percent admit to using the F-word.

The research team at NFT Plazas wanted to find out which United States residents use profanity the most.  They analyzed data from different online communities and social media platforms to find which states are using the most cuss words.

How Much Does New Jersey Use Profanity Compared To The Rest Of America?

In a press release from NFT Plazas, their research reveals that the most common curse word among Americans is the F-Bomb, appearing in over 15 percent of Online posts by US Citizens.

New Jersey residents use the F-word the second most of any state in America. Their research discovered that at least 25 percent of NJ residents in online forums use F-Bombs in their posts.

The only state where they use more profanity in online posts than New Jersey is Texas. The irony is that Texas is also one of the top five states that former NJ Residents have moved to since 2022.
