Officials at MAAC Tournament in Atlantic City Test Positive for Coronavirus
Two referees who worked the recent Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Tournament at the Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.
The MAAC announced the positive tests in a statement on Wednesday evening that there were two games that the officials worked.
- Tuesday, March 10: Manhattan vs. Fairfield at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall (Atlantic City, NJ) – Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Tournament 1st round.
- Wednesday, March 11: Manhattan vs. Siena at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall (Atlantic City, NJ) – Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Tournament quarterfinal.
"We continue to adhere to the guidance issued by the CDC and federal and state governments in these unprecedented times and we encourage our fans to do the same," the league said in its statement.
The MAAC Tournament was canceled last Thursday before for the full tournament could be completed and is scheduled to return to Atlantic City each of the next two years.
