With one week until the Major League Baseball trade deadline, the Phillies could be shifting their focus to their starting rotation according to Jon Morosi from the MLB Network.

As Morosi points out, the Phillies are looking at rotation upgrades and he lists two names, White Sox lefty Garrett Crochet and Tigers right-hander Jack Flaherty.

Crochet is having a great season pitching for the lowly White Sox, with a 6-6 record, 3.02 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and a 150 strikeouts in 107.1 innings in 20 starts.

Flaherty seems like he would more of a depth piece at the back of the rotation, but is also having a strong campaign for the Tigers, with a 7-5 record, 3.13 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 127 strikeouts in 100.2 innings pitched.

Both pitchers would be upgrades over Taijuan Walker,. who the team hopes returns sometime in August.

Walker is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Wednesday. He has been out, retroactive to June 22, with right index finger inflammation. He has not pitched well this season, going 3-3 in 10 starts with a bloated 5.60 ERA, 1.49 WHIP, and a 43 strikeouts across 53 innings.

One other arm that the Phillies are missing is Spencer Turnbull, who is out with a right lat strain. The 31-year-old righty has bounced between the starting rotation and the bullpen with a 3-0 record with a 2.65 ERA and 1.05 WHIP. Turnbull is expected to be sidelined until at least early-to-mid August.

Tyler Phillips has been holding down the No. 5 spot in the rotation with Walker and Turnbull have been out.

The Major League Baseball trade deadline is Tuesday July 30.
