The Philadelphia Phillies have called up 2017 Millville High School alum, Buddy Kennedy ahead of their series with the Houston Astros.

Kennedy was acquired by the Phillies from Detroit back on June 7 for cash considerations and has been playing for Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

While at Lehigh, Kennedy has appeared in 56 games and has impressive numbers slashing .313/.415/.543 with 19 doubles, one triple, nine home runs, 29 RBI, 34 walks, 39 runs scored, and a .958 OPS. He played in six big league games for the Tigers this season, hitting .200 with a .308 on-base percentage.

After being drafted in the fifth round of the 2017 MLB Draft, Kennedy made his Major League debut with the team that drafted him, Arizona in 2022. He has spent time with four organizations, Oakland, St. Louis, Detroit, and now Philadelphia. .

To make room for Kennedy, the Phillies have placed Infielder/Outfielder Weston Wilson on the paternity list.

The team also made two other roster moves on Monday, with Max Lazer heading to Philadelphia and Kolby Allard being optioned to Lehigh Valley.

At Millville as a senior, Kennedy caught the attention of teams after hitting .493 with six home runs as a senior.
