This is Memorial Day Weekend, and we remember those who sacrificed their lives so we can live free.  We are blessed to live in a great country where "We the People" are free to pursue Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. We love sports and our Philly teams!! But this weekend, when you’re watching sports, take a moment to remember what it costs to allow them to play the games we all love.

The Flyers had a good season with a lot to look forward to next year.  The Locker Room will continue to keep the enthusiasm going. This weekend will be giving away a Porter Martone Flyers Jersey, Courtesy of Pro Image Sports.

To qualify to be eligible to win, you must text us at 609-403-0973 and answer the question: What grade did Flyers GM Danny Briere give Head Coach Rick Tocchet last Sunday in our exclusive interview?  If you don’t know the grade he gave, you can listen to last week's podcast.  Listen to my interview for the answer because we will give the Martone Jersey away on Sunday’s show. Good Luck!!

The Phillies lost their first series with Don Mattingly as manager to the Cincinnati Reds this week.  The Phillies are struggling against left-handed pitching so far this year.  In 19 games against Southpaws, the Phillies are 7-12 with a team batting average of .192 and have scored only three runs per game.

Another major concern is Aaron Nola - Nola is off to a horrible start for the second straight year!  He is 2-4 with a 6.94 ERA. His velocity has dipped, and doesn’t look like the Nola of old, and he is lacking confidence.  Cleveland comes to town for a three game series this weekend but the weather isn’t looking good for baseball in Philadelphia

It’s the unofficial start to the summer, and that means we start the Beach Patrol Report brought to you by McCann Realtors of Sea Isle and the Ocean City Lifeguard Alumni Association. If you want the hottest Flyers jersey, tune into The Locker Room with Billy Schweim this weekend!

On Saturday’s show, Producer Alex Berardis and my intern Erin Ewing join me in the studio. We will be giving away a Flyers Porter Martone Jersey. Tell us what grade Flyers GM Danny Briere gave Flyers Head coach Rick Tocchet on last weekend's show. If you missed it, you can go to last Sunday’s podcast and listen to the interview. Text the answer to 609-403-0973 to be eligible to win. We will announce the winner on Sunday. In Hour Two, Mr. Negadelphia P.J. Corda checks in with his thoughts on the Philly Sports scene brought to you by the Vassar Pool Service. Then we start the Beach Patrol report brought to you by McCann Realtors of Sea Isle and the OCBP Lifeguard alumni assocation.  Former Lt of the OCBP JacK Brooks stops by to kick it off. Our first guest is former Chief of the Longport BP Dan Adams.

On Sunday’s show Producer Alex Berardis and my intern Erin Ewing are with me for the second straight day. We will continue the Flyers Porter Martone Jersey giveaway contest.  Will talk baseball and go “On the Mound” with former Phillies Pitcher Tommy Greene brought to you by Blitz’s market of Ocean City.  In Hour Two, we’ll get our “ High School Athletes in the Spotlight” with Fran Mclaughlin brought to you by the Philly Pretzel Factory of EHT. Then we will pick the winner of the Porter Martone Flyers jersey giveaway.

All that and more this weekend in The Locker Room with Billy Schweim, every Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to Noon on 97.3 FM ESPN Radio South Jersey
