Mike Vick can breathe a sigh of relief.

According to a CSN Philly report, Mike Vick will not be released tonight.

By Vick remaining on the roster past 4 p.m. est on Wednesday, Mike Vick is guaranteed a $3 million bonus for the 2013 season, but that doesn't mean the Eagles will pay it.

CSN Philly previously reported that if Mike Vick is released and signs with another team in free agency for more than $3 million the Eagles are off the hook. It's likely on the open market Vick would sign a contract worth more than $3 million.

Geoff Mosher was on "The Sportsbash" yesterday and told Mike Gill that this gives new head coach Chip Kelly more time to evaluate Vick and the quarterback position, the two reportedly met in Mobile, AL at the Senior Bowl last month.

Mosher also reports that the Eagles are in discussions with Ravens practice-squad quarterback Dennis Dixon, who starred at Oregon under Kelly. Dixon was a finalist for the Maxwell Award and Davey O'Brien award during his time with Kelly.
