Now, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic, they will face the Celtics in Boston on Opening Night,  Oct. 18.

The Celtics represented the eastern conference in the NBA Finals this season, losing to the Golden State Warriors in six games.

Boston and Philadelphia finished with identical 51-31 records last season, with the Celtics earning the No. 2 seed and the Sixers taking the No. 4 seed.

The teams went 2-2 in the season series last year.

Charania has also reported that the Sixers second game of the season will be against Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks on Oct. 20 for the home opener in Philadelphia.

The Bucks were the No. 3 seed in the east last season with the Bucks taking the season series 2-1.
