Single-Session tickets for the 2012 ECAC Hockey Men’s Championship will go on sale Monday, February 27, 2012 at noon.

The NCAA Division 1 event skates into Boardwalk Hall for a two-day Championship beginning Friday, March 16 at 4 p.m. and continues Saturday, March 17. 2012 marks the 51st anniversary of ECAC Hockey and will be the second year that the championship will be held at Boardwalk Hall, hosted by the Atlantic City Convention & Visitors Authority. The top four as determined by the outcome of quarterfinals action will come to Atlantic City to compete in the two-day championship. There will be two semifinal games Friday, followed by the third-place and championship games Saturday. The 2012 League champion will receive an automatic bid to continue down the road to the Frozen Four. The schedule of events is as follows:

Friday, March 16

Session 1 Semifinals two games:

4 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Saturday, March 17

Session 2 Third-place and Championship games:

4 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Single-Session tickets are priced at $26 for the upper bowl and $31 for the lower bowl. TD Bank Family 4-Packs are $79 and include 4 tickets, 4 hot dogs, and 4 soft drinks and must be purchased in advance. Two-day All-Session tickets are still available, and are priced at $87 for the first two rows on the glass, $52 for the lower bowl and $42 for seats in the upper bowl. Family friendly, no-alcohol sections are available for $52. Tickets can be purchased at the Boardwalk Hall box office, all Ticketmaster locations, online at www.ticketmaster.com, or by phone at 800-736-1420.

Discount rates are also available for groups of 10 or more. Fans can save $5 per ticket on any seat when booking a group for any session of the Championship. ECAC Hockey consists of 12 of the most prestigious men’s Division I hockey teams from the following institutions: Brown, Clarkson, Colgate, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Princeton, Quinnipiac, Rensselaer, St. Lawrence, Union, and Yale.  Last year, the #3 seeded Yale Bulldogs defeated the 2010 ECAC Hockey champions, Cornell’s Big Red, in a shutout game of 6-0.  For more information about ECAC Hockey, visit www.ecachockey.com.

Boardwalk Hall has had a long history with ice hockey dating back to December 28, 1929 when Ottawa faced off against the New York Rangers. The following year saw the debut of the first of Boardwalk Hall’s two home hockey teams, the Atlantic City Seagulls, who played until 1952. Following the $90 million renovation to Boardwalk Hall, the ECHL-affiliated Boardwalk Bullies took to the ice in October 2001 and won the Kelly Cup in 2003. In 2010 hockey was re-energized in Atlantic City as Boardwalk Hall hosted four exciting AHL and one ECHL Devils Hockey games. Last year showcased the two day ECAC Hockey Men’s Championship. Most recently, Boardwalk Hall was the host site of the 2012 AHL All-Star Classic this past January.
