According to Yahoo! Sports, the Sixers are finalizing a partially guaranteed contract for the 2013-14 season with former Lakers point guard Darius Morris.

Morris, 22, rejected a chance to return to Los Angeles with the Lakers for a better role on a rebuilding Sixers team.

Morris looks to fill in a back court with rookie Michael-Carter-Williams and recently acquired Tony Wroten.

Morris averaged four points in just 14.6 minutes per game with the Lakers last season.

When starting point guards Steve Nash and Steve Blake went down with injuries, Morris received the bulk of his playing time.

Morris is a second round pick of the Lakers in 2011 after leaving the University of Michigan early after his sophomore season.
