South Jersey Witnessed Rare Milestone at 2026 ShopRite LPGA
There was plenty of uncertainty entering the final round of the 2026 ShopRite LPGA at
the Seaview Golf Club Bay Course. After a windy Saturday created chaos on the
leaderboard, many people were unsure about who would actually win.
Ten years have passed since a former champion has won the ShopRite LPGA
Tournament, and after the 2025 winner missed the cut, that left one woman who had a
chance to make history on the final day of May 2026.
While the crowd roared when two-time champion Anna Nordqvist stepped to the first
tee for her final round, the reality is that she was six shots back of the leader, and she
never was in position to make a charge up the leaderboard
History Made At 2026 ShopRite LPGA
Prior to the start of the final round, the winner of the 2021 ShopRite LPGA Classic got to
meet 11-year old Evelyn King-White. Celene Boutier had the opportunity to tell Evelyn
that she will be receiving an all-expenses-paid VIP trip to Disney World and Universal
Studios in Florida.
Boutier met Evelyn at the first tee of the final round of the 2026 ShopRite LPGA thanks
the First Tee of Greater Baltimore and the Childhood Cancer Society. The moment of
seemed to launch Boutier into having a great final round:
“It was definitely....a good feeling to be able to give some good news, to see the excitement, and to be also one of her favorite players is something that I take that pretty
seriously.” Celine Boutier told the media after the final round.
“I thought it was super cool that she was watching us and she was there to also support and watch the
tournament. So I thought it was a really cool experience and it kind of set me up in a good mood for the day for sure.”
Celine Boutier shot five-under-par for her final round, launching herself into the lead
heading onto the 18 th hole. Despite missing a birdie putt, she still finish the tournament
nine-under-par, one shot ahead of Thailand’s Arpichaya Yubol, and two shots ahead of
Ireland’s Lauren Walsh.
But Boutier was not the final group on the golf course, and mathematically she had to
wait for one final competitor. Japan’s Chizzy Iwai was the final golfer with a chance to
tie for the lead, but she was unable to capitalize while Celine patiently waited across the
street at the Practice Putting Green next to the Seaview Hotel.
Celine Boutier is the sixth woman in the 38 years of the ShopRite LPGA Tournament to
be a multiple-time champion. She joins an exclusive list featuring Hall of Fame Golfers:
*Juli Inkster (1986, 1988)
*Betsy King (1987, 1995, 2001)
*Annika Sörenstam (1998, 2002, 2005)
*Stacy Lewis (2012, 2014)
*Anna Nordqvist (2015, 2016)
Before her win on Sunday afternoon, she was unaware of that she had the opportunity
to join an exclusive group of all-time great golfers:
“Was definitely not aware of that list. Definitely incredible to be among them. I definitely feel like I have a lot to do to even be remotely close to what they achieved in the sport.
Yeah, obviously honored to be on the same list as these players.”
Boutier is being humble; She is the is the winningest French player in LPGA Tour
history, she was a member of the 2014 NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championship at
Duke University, a two-time Olympian, and her Official Career Earnings are approaching
$10 Million.
The other historic achievement at the 2026 ShopRite LPGA was the check presented to Celine Boutier was for $300,000 - This was part of the $2 million in winnings for participants in this year's tournament, a 14.3 percent increase over last year.
After the miserable weather over Memorial Day Weekend, the crowds flooded the Seaview Golf Club Bay Course for the beautiful weather that came to South Jersey on Sunday. The ShopRite LPGA is one of the oldest-running tournaments on the LPGA Tour, and it was exciting to see so many people come out to see the event play out with history being made on Sunday.
