Spirit Airlines is ending its seasonal Atlantic City to Miami route on Oct. 4, leaving South Jersey travelers with fewer options to reach the Sunshine State this fall.

Plenty of people from South Jersey will use Atlantic City International Airport to head to Florida to experience some warmer weather, but this season, they will have one less option to choose from if they want to visit the Sunshine State.

Spirit Airlines Ending Miami Route from ACY

One seasonal route from Spirit Airlines flew from ACY to Miami, offering four weekly flights beginning Aug. 13, but Spirit announced that it will be eliminating that flight with the final takeoff to Miami, according to their website, on Saturday, Oct 4.

Spirit Airlines Chapter 11 Restructuring and Impact

Back on August 29th, Spirit Airlines voluntarily entered the Chapter 11 restructuring process, but confirmed they will continue to operate and offer high-value travel options.

Florida Destinations Still Available from ACY

There are still other Florida options for people who want to continue to experience the convenience that flying from ACY offers, with flights to Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Orlando, Tampa, West Palm Beach, and there is also a flight to Myrtle Beach, SC.

Allegiant Airlines Expands Service at ACY

There is also a new option that will fly passengers from ACY to Florida. Allegiant Airlines is now servicing ACY with flights to Fort Lauderdale, Orlando/Sanford, St. Petersburg-Clearwater, and Punta Gorda.

Hopefully, the flight to Miami will return at some point in the future, but you can still take advantage of some convenient travel options using ACY.
