Flyers goalie Samuel Ersson has won each of his last six decisions since making his NHL debut on Dec. 23. Ersson is expected in goal for Saturday's game against the New Jersey Devils and a chance at his seventh straight win.
On Thursday night in the season opener, the team that scored just eight goals in six preseason games got five goals, all from players who fall into that youthful category, as the Flyers claimed a 5-2 victory over the New Jersey Devils at Wells Fargo Center.
The Flyers completed a trade with the Nashville Predators, adding defenseman Ryan Ellis in exchange or defenseman Phil Myers and forward Nolan Patrick. Patrick was sent to the Vegas Golden Knights in a separate deal involving the Predators and New York Rangers.
