It's the second year in a row that Chicago has signed a Philadelphia free agent, last offseason they inked linebacker T.J. Edwards.

The team acquired Byard in a October trade with the Tennessee Titans, which included safety Terrell Edmonds and fifth and sixth round draft picks.

The free agent period begins on March 11, when teams can start talking to free agents, they can officially sign them on Wednesday, March 13.

They will save around $14 million in cap space.
