Facing the lowly Buffalo Sabres was going to be a test to see if the Flyers would play down to the opponent and let it hurt the final result, but the Orange and Black secured a 2-1 win for their fifth straight, which certainly has the team's 10-game losing streak slipping further into the past.

Playing on home ice hasn't been the Flyers strong suit this season, but they opened a five-game homestand with a clutch 4-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs to extend their winning streak to four.

Flyers defenseman Radko Gudas was given a 10-game suspension for his slashing major to the back of the head of Mathieu Perreault in Thursday's game against the Jets. By missing Saturday's game, Gudas has already served one of the games in the suspension.
