Selke Trophy

Flyers forward Sean Couturier was named the winner of the Frank J. Selke Memorial Trophy, presented annually to “the forward who best excels in the defensive aspects of the game," for the 2019-20 season on Thursday.

Flyers forward Sean Couturier is a finalist for the Selke Trophy, along with Boston's Patrice Bergeron and St. Louis' Ryan O'Reilly.

Sean Couturier came out ahead in the midseason voting for the Selke Trophy, beating out O’Reilly, who came in third, and Patrice Bergeron, the four-time Selke winner, who finished second. That prompted the thought: could this finally be Couturier’s year to receive some much-deserved hardware?
