The Locker Room Crew at The Jerseyman Magazine Gala at The Pool

On Thursday night, the Jerseyman and Phillyman Magazine held its monthly event in Atlantic City at The Pool in Harrah's. The publisher of the popular magazine is former Eagles Tight End Ken Dunek, who each month gathers advertisers and business people to socialize at upscale locations around Philadelphia and South Jersey region. Last night was another first-class event and the food was outstanding. As pictured above is from left to right, front row is 973 ESPN's Josh Hennig and me, Billy Schweim; Then on the Back Row is Kris Jonsson from Insperity, "The PT" Pete Thompson, JerseyMan Publisher Ken Dunek, and The Locker Room Co-Host Brad Quast. We want to thank Ken and his staff for an outstanding event that allows business people to network in a casual setting, it was a great time had by all!

While we were having a good time on Thursday Day, the Phillies squeaked past the Pittsburgh Pirates 8-7 and improved their record to 52-47 which lands them in the last wildcard spot for the National League Playoffs, thanks to the Phillies holding the tiebreaker against the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Eagles opened Training Camp this week and it is good to see the Birds on the practice field as we inch closer to the first preseason game against the New York Jets on Friday August 12th (which you can hear on 97.3 FM ESPN!). I’ve heard from a few former NFL players who snicker at the light training camp practices, considering twenty to thirty years ago when those players had two-a-days during Training Camp. In 2022, the Eagles practiced for 58 minutes on Day Two of camp, as Head Coach Nick Sirianni is trying to follow the model of the Los Angeles Rams and cutdown on those infamous Soft-Tissue Injuries. Let’s hope the Eagles can get the practice time they need jell with their teammates ahead of the start of the season.

On Saturday’s Show, 3-time All-Big Ten Linebacker and former NFL LB Brad Quast joins me in the studio. We will discuss the Eagles's first few days at Training Camp and a look at the state of College Football heading into the 2022 season. The Sports Book Consigliere Dave Sharapan checks in from Las Vegas and looks at the favorites at the book to win their respective divisions this upcoming NFL season.
