Giroux shines in return, Asante sits out, McCoy will start, Sixers complete their roster and the Phillies add a pair to the roster.

Welcome Back:  Claude Giroux scored four points in his return to the ice following his concussion to help lead the Easteran Conference leading Flyers over Western Conference leader, Dallas.  The Flyers are back in action on Friday against the Rangers in a preview of their Winter Classic game on January 2nd.

On the Sidelines: Cornerback Asante Samuel was out of practice Wednesday with hamstring issues, while defensive tackles Cullen Jenkins (groin) and Trevor Laws (knee) were both limited in practice.

He's the Man: The final results of fan balloting for the 2012 Pro Bowl are in, and with a late charge running back LeSean McCoy finished first among NFC running backs ahead of Vikings star Adrian Peterson.

Phillies Add Two:  The Phillies have signed two additional players to minor league contracts with invitations to major league spring training as non-roster players, the club announced.  The team added infielder Hector Luna and outfielder Luis Montañez.  In addition, infielder Carlos Rivero was claimed off waivers by the Washington Nationals today.  He had been placed on waivers by the Phillies to make room on the roster for shortstop Jimmy Rollins who was re-signed on Monday. The Phillies are now at 40 players on the 40-man roster.

Sixers Finalize Roster:  The Sixers have waived Antonio Anders, Dwayne Jones, Mike Tisdale and Xavier Silas.  Their roster now stands at 14 heading into the season opener at Portland on December 26th.  Only Silas appeared in the teams two preseason game, for a total of 10 minutes.
