The Eagles’ list of inactive players for today’s wild-card game against Tampa Bay includes two surprises, one on each side of the ball.

Defensive end Josh Sweat will not play after he underwent an emergency procedure on Tuesday.

Per ESPN's Adam Schefter: Sweat “improved every day but it was determined by the doctors today that he was not quite ready. The fact that Josh came so close to playing is a credit to his toughness and our medical staff.”

Losing Sweat is a major blow to the Eagles pass rush, after a season where he posted 45 tackles, 7.5 sacks, and a forced fumble in 13 starts this season.

Expect to see more of Ryan Kerrigan and Tarron Jackson in place of Sweat today.

Also inactive today is right guard Nate Herbig with a ankle injury, Sue Opeta will start in his place.

Opeta will be the fifth different right guard for the Eagles this season, with Brandon Brooks, Landon Dickerson, Jack Driscoll, Herbig and now Opeta all seeing time there.

The rest of the Eagles inactives include: QB Reid Sinnett, RB Jason Huntley, CB Tay Gowan, DB Andre Chachere, and DB Kary Vincent

For Tampa CB Sean Murphy-Bunting, QB Kyle Trask, RB Kenjon Barner, RB Ronald Jones, WR Cyril Grayson, TE Codey McElroy, and OL Nick Leverett are inactive.
