After being a relatively invisible and silent figure in the Flyers organization, Comcast CEO Dave Scott has made his presence known of late, first in the crosshairs of the Flyers firing of Ron Hextall as GM and in the team's recently-concluded GM search.

Now Scott has made another business decision with the Flyers right at the forefront.

Comcast Spectacor announced on Monday that Valerie Camillo has been appointed as the President of Business Operations for the Philadelphia Flyers and Wells Fargo Center.

"Valerie’s proven expertise in realizing revenue opportunities and implementing strategies that accelerate growth make her the right choice to lead an exciting new era for the Flyers and the Wells Fargo Center." Scott said in a statement. "As we transform our venue into the most technologically-advanced arena in the country and the Flyers’ pipeline of young talent continues to meld with our proven stars, Valerie’s leadership will ensure that our business operations perform at peak levels and deliver a best-in-class fan experience."

Camillo reports directly to Scott. Among those reporting to Camillo in her role are Flyers executive vice president and COO Shawn Tilger and Wells Fargo Center's senior vice president and general manager Mike Scanlon.

Camillo joins Comcast Spectacor after spending time as the Chief Revenue and Marketing Officer for the Washington Nationals. She previously has also served as the senior vice president of team marketing and business operations for the NBA.
