Congratulations to Mainland's standout Field Hockey star, Kailey Stangle for taking home last week's 97.3 ESPN High School Athlete of the Week honors.

This week, we have a new batch of local student-athletes this week who have proven themselves worthy in their respective fields.

Scott Kurkowski, Soccer, Middle TownshipHe helped fuel a dramatic rally in a South Jersey semifinal matchup against Woodstown. The Panthers fell behind 3-0, but Kurkowski and company stormed back to win 4-3 in penalty kicks. Kurkowski scored two goal during the comeback.

Jamir Prevard, Football, Atlantic City - The sophomore quarterback accounted for five touchdowns in a 43-31 win over Absegami. His efforts came in a must-win situation led the Vikings into the postseason.

Kelly Hanna, Field Hockey, Ocean City - Her first-half goal proved to be the difference in a pivotal South Jersey semifinal win over Allentown. Hanna led the Red Raiders to a 1-0 victory and a trip to the championship.

Emily DeMarco, Field Hockey, St. Joe - The senior standout scored a game-winning goal with less than two minutes remaining in the non-public South Jersey championship game. DeMarco's goal gave the unbeaten Wildcats a 2-1 win over Bishop Eustace. 

Antoine White, Football, Millville - The senior defensive tackle gave Millville momentum in the team's comeback victory over Hammonton. White, a Penn State commit, returned an interception 87 yards for a touchdown in a 28-21 win.
