Congrats to the Middle Township soccer team for scoring a second 97.3 ESPN High School Athlete of the Week winner.

Senior Scott Kurkowski joined goalie Tanner Kerr when he took home last week's honors.

This week, we have a new batch of local student-athletes this week who have proven themselves worthy in their respective fields.

Lamont Harris, Football, St. Augustine - The junior running back dominated in a first-round playoff victory over previously unbeaten St. Joe (Metuchen). Harris carried the ball 40 times for 330 yards and four touchdowns in a 42-28 win.

 

Dylan Cummings, Football, Pennsville - The junior quarterback took control of his team's postseason opener against Gloucester. Cummings 150 rushing yards on 11 carries, while passing for 230 yards. He accounted for seven total touchdowns.

 

Kelly Hanna, Field Hockey, Ocean City - She played the role of hero, netting a game-winning score as time expired in the second overtime of a state title showdown versus Warren Hills. Hanna's goal broke a scoreless tie and pushed her team to a second straight title.

 

Rob Ennis, Football, Millville - The junior scored a pair of first-half touchdowns in a first-round playoff win against defending Group V champion Wiliamstown. Ennis gained 152 yards on 25 carries in the 28-19 victory.

 

Cappadonna Miller, Football, Bridgeton - The versatile Bulldogs junior contributed on both sides of the ball in a 47-26 playoff win at Cinnaminson. Miller returned an interception 22 yards for a touchdown and caught a 47-yard touchdown pass.
