Congratulations to Atlantic City's Dennis White for taking home the final 97.3 ESPN High School Athlete of Week award of 2013.

This week, we have a new batch of local student-athletes this week who have proven themselves worthy in their respective fields.

Lauryn Fields, Basketball, Middle Township - The senior guard scored 29 points in opening-round action at the Boardwalk Basketball Classic. Fields drained three three-pointers in a victory.

 

Eddie McWade, Basketball, Wildwood Catholic - The senior forward scored 22 points and pulled down 13 rebounds in a double-overtime victory against Archbishop Wood (Philadelphia).

 

Chris Crane, Wrestling, Southern Regional - He won individual titles in the Robin Leff Tournament at Southern and Governor Mifflin Tournament in Pennsylvania. Crane competes in the 120-pound weight class.

 

Jess Freeman, Basketball, Wildwood - She scored 25 points and secured six rebounds in a 41-37 win over Friends Central (Pa.). She connected on 15 free throw attempts.

 

Kennedy Johnson, Basketball, Wildwood Catholic - The Michigan State commit surpassed 1,000 career points during a victory over South Jersey powerhouse Washington Township. Johnson finished the game with 21 points and 11 rebounds.
