Congratulations to all of the lightweight wrestlers from St. Augustine Prep. The group collectively picked up last week's 97.3 ESPN High School Athlete of the Week honors.

We have a new batch of local student-athletes this week who have proven themselves worthy.

Amber Glenn, Swimming, Atlantic City - It appears the Atlantic City swimming program is in good hands after the graduation of Vikings legend and University of Tennessee bound Colleen Callahan. Glenn, a freshman, was phenomenal at the Frank Forde Cape-Atlantic League Individual Swimming Championships.She captured victories in the 200-meter and 400-meter freestyle races and joined the team's title-winning 400-meter relay group.

 

Paul Moore, Basketball, Holy Spirit - The Spartans are suddenly riding a seven-game win streak and team's senior guard is leading the charge. Moore poured in 25 points in a 63-49 victory over George Washington (Philadelphia) at Battle By The Bay in Atlantic City.

 

Eddie Parks, Swimming, Vineland - The sophomore starred at the CAL Individual Swimming Championships. Parks claimed victories in the 50-meter freestyle and 100-meter butterfly. He then took part in two relay victories.

 

Trey Jones, Basketball, Egg Harbor Township - The senior stepped up to help the Silver Eagles snatch a pivotal CAL American Conference victory. Jones scored 12 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter of a 55-53 victory. He converted a three-point play in the game's final minute to lift EHT.

 

Mikila Stefanski, Basketball, Cedar Creek - The junior torched St. Joe for 20 points on Tuesday night. Stefanski's stellar performance pushed the Pirates to a 45-37 win that clinched a United Conference championship for Cedar Creek.
