Why Did Eagles Defense Play So Well Versus Steelers?
In 2015 the Pittsburgh Steelers were 4th in the NFL in Points Scored with 26.4 Points Per Game. But on Sunday the Eagles defense came out ready for them and held them to just 3 points in the Eagles win at home. After three games the Eagles Defense are 1st in the NFL in Points Allowed at 9.0 per game and also 4th in NFL in Total Yards Allowed with only 823 yards.
Super Bowl Champion Barrett Brooks from CSN Philly joins The Sports Bash on Monday and discussed why Defensive Coordinator Jim Schwartz has defense playing so well in 2016:
“Schwartz understands that if he lets his big dogs eat he can be very vanilla up front with his front four and get exotic on the back end. This is simply because he trusts the guys to rush the passer. I like it. All the defensive players up front are fresh; they can give their all for 4 to 5 plays and get rotated out for the next guy to give it his all.”
