Wildwood high graduate Frank Vogel‘s has been dismissed as the head coach of the Orlando Magic, according to the team.

The Magic went 54-110 during his two seasons, after going 250-181 in six seasons with the Pacers.

"He had his chances, but with that roster, I don't blame him for what happened down there," NBA writer Kurt Helin from NBC Sports said on The Sports Bash.

"That was a terribly poor fitting roster, he did about as well as anyone was going to do with it - the problems there started above him, and he couldn't solve them."

Vogel lead Indiana to back-to-back conference finals in 2013 and 2014, losing both times to the Miami Heat.

His final Pacers team lost in game 7 of the first round to Toronto, as the Pacers choose to part ways with him following that series.

When asked if Vogel will be back in the NBA as a head coach Helin said:

"Yes, I don't know that it will happen this summer, maybe he takes a job as a lead assistant somewhere - but he'll get another job, people really respect what he did in Indiana and I think he's going to get another chance."
