New Italian Restaurant Changing The Wildwood Dining Scene This Summer

For decades, one of the staples of Wildwood Nightlife was at the corner of Pacific Avenue and Oak Avenue, with one of the most unique atmospheres on the island.

The Deck at Holly Beach was well-known for the second-floor open-air bar, which featured live entertainment most nights and an underrated food menu. This was a popular nightlife hot spot for years, and many people have plenty of memories spending their nights at The Deck.

But the COVID-19 Pandemic Lockdowns had a debilitating impact on many South Jersey businesses, and The Deck at Holly Beach would be sold ahead of the 2022 Summer Season.

The new owners, who renamed the business The Cove, were unable to gain the momentum over the last couple of summers. The property was suddenly up for sale this past winter, and Wildwood Locals started to see construction crews working on changing the building.

What Is The New Restaurant Coming To Wildwood?

The building at the corner of Pacific Avenue and Oak Avenue will have its third different owner in the last five years. But moving forward, the plan is for something different compared to years past.

After months of speculation and rumors, Sapore Italiano has confirmed they are the new owners of the building that use to be The Deck. Construction crews have enclosed the upstairs and now the building with be two floors for the new restaurant.

On the new business social media page, they made the following statement:

"Sabbia D'oro Italiano, located on 3401 Pacific Avenue, will offer an elegant fine dining experience inspired by the rich culinary traditions of Italy. Guests can enjoy expertly paired wines and craft cocktails from our bar in a warm, sophisticated setting. Whether for a romantic evening or a memorable celebration, Sabbia D’oro will deliver timeless Italian cuisine with exceptional service."

While there is no official Grand Opening date set for the new Wildwood Restaurant, they have posted new signage outside the building after construction crews have finished. There are people on social media speculating that Sabbia D'oro Italiano will be open in time for Memorial Day Weekend.
