Some think the Olympic games have gotten off to a lack luster start for the Americans.

Don't tell that to the hockey team.

Team USA got off to a fast start and never looked back beating Slovakia 7-1 in their opening game of the tournament on Thursday morning.

Kings goaltender Johnathan Quick had 22 saves on 23 shots for the Americans who picked up three points with the victory. Paul Stastny led the team with two goals and former Flyers F James van Riemsdyk tallied two assists. A total of 11 players registered at least a point in the rout.

ESPN analyst Barry Melrose joined Mike and Todd to talk about the victory and what expects on Saturday morning against Russia in a Lake Placid rematch.

"I think USA will medal," Melrose said.

Melrose talked about how much pressure is on the Russians to medal in this tournament as they're playing on home ice.

Melrose also talks the second half of the NHL which wont pick back up for another two weeks and handicaps the Flyers playoff chances.
