South Jersey baseball squads are set to partake in a prestigious tournament that perennially prepares its competitors for upcoming postseason challenges.

The 41st annual Joe Hartmann Diamond Classic begins Saturday morning with teams from across the region ready to vie for the top spot.

The Cape-Atlantic League will be well represented. Conference champions St. Augustine (American) and Cedar Creek (National) are in the mix, along with at-large selections Egg Harbor Township and Hammonton.

Here’s a look at the opening-round Diamond Classic schedule. The tournament final takes place Sunday, May 18 at Eastern High School. Saturday, May 10 *At Deptford

1 p.m. – Hammonton (No. 2 at-large) vs. Maple Shade (Burlco Freedom) *At Maple Shade
