Their last names jump off the page: Polin, Grier, Wolf.

Those names are synonymous with being great NFL talent evaluators.

The Eagles are talking to the sons of those great talent evaluators. Chris Polian is the son of Bill who built those great Colts teams during the Peyton Manning era. Chris Grier just finished his 15th season with Miami and fifth as director of college scouting, his father Bobby Grier, is a senior personnel adviser with the Texans. Eliot Wolf, who was recently promoted by Green Bay to director of player personnel, is the son of Ron Wolf, the architect of the great Green Bay team during the Brett Favre era.

While those three names might be flashy on the marquee.  There is another candidate who stands out - Sheldon White. White, is currently the Director of Pro Personnel for the Lions and has the most experience of the bunch of names the Eagles have been rumored to interview.  He oversees free agent tryouts, works on contracts with the Lions, he really has the most experience in all aspects of what it takes to be a general manager in the NFL and has much more hands on experience than some of the younger candidates with great last names.

The hope is the Eagles can get a deal done sooner than later, teams are already in the process of putting free agent and draft plans in place with the Senior Bowl  just two weeks away.

One internal candidate to keep an eye on though is assistant director of player personnel Ed Marynowitz, a young guy with little experience.  Marynowitz worked with Nick Saban as Alabama's director of player personnel, directing the team’s football recruiting efforts.  He also worked under Bill Parcells and Jeff Ireland during his time with the Dolphins in 2007.

Another positive for Marynowitz, he knows Chip Kelly well, Kelly likes him and ge could provide some stability that the Eagles need to find at that position.  He is also from Media, PA, so staying with the Eagles could be appealing to Marynowitz.

He could be an underrated name in the Eagles GM search and the Eagles might not want to let another home grown guy get away.

Take a look at the NFL playoffs - Colts GM Ryan Grigson and Broncos GM Tom Heckert were both in Philly and apparently had run-ins with Howie Roseman - with Roseman winning the battle.

Other well respected names that have left Philly, possibly losing the battle to Roseman include: Louis Riddick,  Jason Licht and maybe the Eagles don't want to let that happen again by overlooking Marynowitz.
