While the Phillies pitching might actually be pretty decent, their offense is going to struggle to score runs all season long.

Taking a look at what their lineup might look like on opening day doesn't exactly have Phillies fans too excited and I am sure the Nationals pitching staff staying up late at night.

Right now, the Phillies lineup might look something like this:

A couple of wild cards would be Maikel Franco, Darin Ruf and possibly Jeff Francoeur.

While Franco most likely will start the season at Triple-A Lehigh, he could be the young young impactful bat in the system that is ready to play in the majors now.  Ruf most likely will be used as the top bat off-the-bench, or play some first base against lefties.  Ruf could also play some outfield to give the Phillies less of a left-handed presence.

Currently, six of the Phillies projected regulars hit left-handed with Franco, Ruf and Francoeur all right-handed hitters.

There are not a lot of exciting names trying to win spots on the 2015 Phillies roster - what you see is what you get. And what you might get is a lot of nights where the Phillies lineup doesn't score a lot of runs, leaving fans frustrated, and Citizens Bank Park half empty most nights.
