Rashad Kinlaw is the newest member of the Fighting Irish. The athletically gifted junior who spent the past two seasons guiding Absegami’s offensive attack has committed to play football at the University of Notre Dame.

Kinlaw narrowed his choice to Notre Dame on Monday, March 26 just as his recruitment process appeared to be really ramping up.

The Fighting Irish, coached by Brian Kelly, extended an offer to Kinlaw on March 8.

The Galloway native quickly garnered scholarship offers from Boston College, Iowa, Massachusetts, North Carolina State, Temple and Rutgers University among others.

Kinlaw’s skill set projects nicely at multiple positions on the football field.

Some teams, including Notre Dame, view him as a cornerback, with the speed and size to shut down wide receivers. Others believe he’d be a premier offensive threat with the ball in his hands (Temple prefers him as a passer).

Thanks to his 6-foot-2, 185-pound frame, Kinlaw can physically match up with bigger receivers. His quickness (Kinlaw's 40-yard dash time is sub-4.5) allows him to cover ground in a hurry, whether he's cutting off a crossing pattern or blitzing the opposing quarterback as an in-the-box nickel back.
