
Andrew Painter Hits 100 MPH in Impressive 2025 Debut
Phillies top prospect Andrew Painter made a long-awaited return to the mound Friday night, marking his first minor league appearance since 2022 after a lengthy injury recovery.
Tossing 1.1 innings for Single-A Clearwater, Painter struck out three of the four batters he retired, throwing 37 pitches—21 for strikes—and topping out at 100 mph.

If Painter gets the call, it will be interesting to see if the Phillies elect to go with a six-man rotation with Zack Wheeler, Aaron Nola, Jesús Luzardo, Cristopher Sánchez, and Ranger Suárez.
