Barbera Seafood Market in Atlantic City Named Best Seafood Spot in New Jersey
Living at the Jersey Shore, we have some pretty great seafood options.
People from South Jersey always seem to have their favorite spots. If you asked 100 people from the area what their favorite seafood is, you’d probably get a variety of different answers.
Yelp just dropped its list of ‘The Best Seafood Restaurants in Every State,’ which was compiled using places with 'seafood' in their name or reviews, how good the ratings were, and how many reviews they have received.

According to Yelp, their pick for the best seafood restaurant in New Jersey is a local spot in Atlantic City that you might not even know exists, but was also recently named one of the Top 100 seafood spots in the USA, coming in at No. 59, Barbera Seafood Market.
Here's what Yelp had to say about their selection:
For more than a century, this Atlantic City institution has been cooking up the “freshest fish ever, at the best price.” Currently under the watchful eye of owner Dominic Alcaro and his “super-friendly” staff, the market continues to win hearts for its “crispy and amazing” fried offerings, including a Flounder Fish Sandwich (“simply the best thing you’ve ever eaten”), a Fried Smelt Platter (“crispy, bite-size fish [that don’t] need tartar sauce”), and a Soft-Shell Crab Sandwich so delicious you’ll be “craving it for days.” They’re also known for their Feast of the Seven Fishes platters during Christmas season.
This seafood spot, which opened back in 1919, is located right up the street from a famous Atlantic City sandwich shop you might have heard of, The White House.
This spot is located at 2243 Arctic Ave., right across from Bass Pro Shop in the Ducktown section of Atlantic City.
