Haddonfield Little Leaguer Suspended for Bat Flip in State Semifinals
A Haddonfield, NJ Little League baseball player was suspended for a bat flipping incident that occurred in a Little League Baseball Tournament Section 4 New Jersey Championship game between Haddonfield Little League and Harrison Township back on July 16.
The Umpire’s Ruling and League Policy
The umpire ruled that the celebration fell under the “no horseplay” rule and the player must serve a one-game suspension for this bat flip ahead of the New Jersey state championship game on Thursday night.
The "no horseplay" rule is not really defined by the Little League rule book, and is pretty vague.
- At no time should “horseplay” be permitted on the playing field.
