Blackjacks Fall in Inaugural Game vs Soul
Making their Arena Football League debut on Saturday, the Atlantic City Blackjacks got off to a fast start.
Facing one of the leagues most successful franchises, the Philadelphia Soul, the Blackjacks jumped out to a 14-0 lead to quiet the 9,245 fans at the Wells Fargo Center. AC quarterback Randy Hippeard completed the teams first ever touchdown pass, a 9-yard score to LaMark Brown.
Hippeard finished the game with five passing touchdowns, and 178 yards passing.
The Blackjacks could not hold on, dropping their inaugural game by a score of 48-41.
The team will look to get its first win next week as they host the Columbus Destroyers in their home opener on May 4th at 3:30PM (on 97.3 ESPN)
