Chimney Brewery and Kitchen Prepares to Open New Location in Philadelphia
Fans of a former popular Hammonton brewery, Chimney Rustic Ales, will soon be able to taste their beer again. According to the Philadelphia Business Journal, the brewing company will open its new Philadelphia-based location at 2157 E. Lehigh Ave.
A New Era for Chimney Brewery in Philadelphia
Chimney Rustic Ales was located at 15 Horton St. in Hammonton and closed back in June, announcing it would be moving across the river to Philadelphia. The former Chimney location is now a local bakery called The Bakeshoppe, which opened back in November.
Owner Dan Borrelli told the publication that the new spot, which will be called Chimney Brewery and Kitchen, will be a 5,000-square-foot, ground-floor space and that they will begin a three-month process of brewing beer to be ready for when they open to the public.
Expanding the Menu: Craft Beer Meets Kitchen Favorites
Unlike the Hammonton location, there will be food, like burgers, cheesesteaks, fries, wings, and seafood dishes like lobster rolls and crab cake sandwiches. Unlike New Jersey, where regulations restrict craft breweries from serving food, Pennsylvania allows full kitchen operations..
While the Hammonton location was small, this new location has seating for about 50 people inside and another 60 people on their outdoor patio.
Chimney Brewery and Kitchen envisions putting about $500,000 into the new facility, which they anticipate will bring around a dozen or so new jobs once operational.
An official opening date has not been announced, but updates will be shared as new details emerge.
