Another team seems like they are interested in Phillies ace lefty Cole Hamels.

Add the Cardinals to the list of teams who are exploring the possibility of adding Hamels to their rotation. The Cards are looking at ways to add a top-end arm to the top of the rotation, Ken Rosenthal and Jon Morosi of FOX Sports report.

Other names they have some interest in according to the report include: free agent Max Scherzer and a pair of trade candidates David Price of the Tigers and Hamels.  Many reports suggest that the Phillies' price for Hamels has been high this offseason, but the Cardinals are in a position to meet those needs if they really want to make a deal.

Another interesting nugget according to the report is the fact that Hamels wife, Heidi is from St. Louis and her family still lives in the area.

The last team we have heard connected to Hamels was the Padres, back on Dec. 21 reports were that the Padres have had discussions with the Phillies regarding Hamels.
