As the countdown to the NFL Draft is now just hours, here is a possible scenario that was floated earlier today, that could happen for Howie Roseman and the Eagles per Chief Draft Analyst Tony Pauline of Pro Football Network.

Taking a defensive back.

We have heard a lot of wide receiver, and recently linebacker has starting picking up some steam. However, what we haven't heard a lot of is the Eagles taking a defensive back, something that is a need, but hasn't had a lot of connection to the team at this point.

Per Pauline of Pro Football Network:

Could the Philadelphia Eagles pull a big surprise tonight? I’m told the answer is yes.

The general consensus has the Eagles taking a receiver in round one. There’s even talk that the team may trade up for Henry Ruggs III of Alabama, the player I have the Eagles selecting in the first round of my final mock draft.

But sources tell me there’s no guarantee the Eagles take a receiver with the 21st selection and presently put the odds at 50/50.

Don’t be surprised if the Eagles shock their fans tonight and go defense, specifically defensive back seven, and choose a linebacker or cornerback in the first round.
