Former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick made news when he accepted the head coaching position at North Carolina.

While there was some speculation that he could get out of his North Carolina deal and make a return to the NFL, that was debunked pretty quickly by Ocean City resident and new North Carolina football general manager, Michael Lombardi.

Lombardi, who is a frequent guest on the Pat McAfee Show on ESPN joined the show this week and talked about how Belichick was at the Battle at the Beach football event in August to recruit players with the thought he could be coaching in college this season.

"When that story came out, Coach Belichick was recruiting South Jersey," Lombardi said on the show. Today he was at Bergan Catholic (to recruit), one of the teams we watched play in Ocean City."

On Thursday it was announced that Millville will face Rancocas Valley in a game at the event for the upcoming season. On Friday another huge game was announced where the No. 1 team in New Jersey, Bergan Catholic, will face the No. 1 team in Illinois, East St. Louis - a game that Bill Belichick might want to see.

That game has been announced for Thursday, Aug 28 at Ocean City High School.
