Eagles Lose WR to IR, Add New Defensive End
After placing wide receiver Johnny Wilson on the injured reserve after undergoing surgery for a knee and ankle injury, the Eagles have filled his spot on their 90-man roster by adding a defensive end.
Johnny Wilson’s Injury and Roster Impact
Wilson was injured at practice after having a solid training camp and had three catches for 73 yards in the preseason opener against the Cincinnati Bengals. Last year as a rookie, Wilson had five catches for 38 yards and a touchdown.
Who is Jereme Robinson?
added 2025 undrafted rookie free agent Jereme RobinsonCollege Career with Kansas Jayhawks
During his time in college with the Kansas Jayhawks, Robinson (6-3, 263) registered 98 tackles and 14 sacks. Robinson is an interesting prospect who can play both edge and tackle on the defensive line.
Eagles’ Current Edge Rusher Competition
The Eagles have some potential at the edge position, but are looking to add more competition at the position. Currently, Jalyx Hunt and Nolan Smith are the top edge rushers, with veteran Josh Uche and Azeez Ojulari in the mix at the position. The team also has 2025 seventh-round pick Antwaun Powell-Ryland Jr., who Robinson could push for a roster spot.
Final Thoughts
While Robinson is an interesting prospect, his best chance to stick around would be on the Eagles practice squad.
