
Eagles Announce Inactives for Season Opener vs Cowboys
The Philadelphia Eagles announced seven players, including their backup quarterback Tanner McKee, will be inactive against the Dallas Cowboys in the season opener.
Eagles Week 1 Inactives Revealed
Another mild surprise was edge rusher Azeez Ojulari was also inactive after signing as a free agent this offseaon.
Other Eagles Healthy Scratches vs Cowboys
In addition to McKee and Ojulari, Ogbo Okoronkwo, offensive lineman Drew Kendall, Cameron Williams and Kenyon Green and defensive tackle Ty Robinson were all designated as inactive for Thursday’s matchup at Lincoln Financial Field.
Tanner McKee Out, Sam Howell In as Backup QB
The announcement also confirms Sam Howell will be the backup quarterback. The Eagles added Howell in a trade with Seattle after McKee broke his throwing thumb during training camp.
Ojulari was signed as a free agent in the offseason, but finds himself behind Josh Uche in Week 1 in the Eagles pass rush rotation behind Jaylx Hunt, Nolan Smith, Uche and Patrick Johnson, who was elevated to the active roster from the roster along with safety Marcus Epps.
Uche was on the injury report this week with a groin, put is active and playing.
The rest of the group were all healthy scratches after carrying no injury designations throughout the week.
Landon Dickerson Active Despite Injury Concern
Guard Landon Dickerson was on the injury report as a DNP and didn’t practice on Monday, but is active tonight against Dallas.
