The Philadelphia Eagles today announced that they have signed LB Adrian Moten to the active roster and G Julian Vandervelde to the practice squad, and have released LB Brian Rolle and LS Kyle Nelson.

A second-year pro, Moten (6-2, 230) was with Philadelphia during training camp this season. He was signed on August 6 and then was released on the final roster cut down on August 31. He was originally a rookie free agent signing of Indianapolis in 2011, playing in 10 games and registering seven tackles with the Colts before being placed on waivers on November 26, 2011. He was claimed by Seattle on November 28, and played in the team's final two games that season. The 24-year-old played collegiately at Maryland, where he recorded 219 tackles, 15.5 sacks and 24 tackles for loss. As a junior, the Suitland, MD, native led the team with six sacks and nine tackles for loss while finishing second on the squad with 68 tackles.

Vandervelde (6-2, 300) appeared in one game for the Eagles last season after being selected by Philadelphia in the fifth round of the 2011 draft. The Davenport, IA, native started 37 games during his collegiate career at Iowa, seeing time at both left and right guard. The 24-year-old earned second-team All-Big Ten conference honors as a senior in 2010 starting all 13 games at left guard for the Hawkeyes. Vandervelde was released on August 31, and was claimed off waivers by Tampa Bay on September 1. The Buccaneers waived Vandervelde on September 3, and then signed him to their practice squad on September 5 before he was released on September 27.

Moten will wear jersey #57 and Vandervelde will wear #61.
