The Eagles have re-signed defensive lineman Cedric Thornton, to a one-year, $2.356 million contract.

Thornton was a restricted free agent.  He had a solid 2014 season, posting 36 tackles, one sack, and three fumble recoveries, one of which he returned for a touchdown.

Thornton, 27, was signed by the Eagles as an undrafted free agent following the 2011 NFL Draft.  Thornton took over the starting defensive end job in 2013 and has steadily become one of the better ends in the league.

He returns to the Eagles 3-4 defense as a run-stuffing, two-down player, after starting 32 games over the previous two seasons.
