The Eagles continued to try and upgrade their defense on Saturday in free agency, signing former Chargers linebacker Jatavis Brown, to a one-year contract.

Brown, 26, was a third round pick in the 2016 draft out of Akron and was a starter with the Chargers, appearing in 43 games over his first three seasons, before spending the 2019 season in a reserve role.

Brown is listed at 5 feet 11 and 221 pounds.

He should come in and get playing time right away for Jim Schwartz's defense, after making at least 79 tackles in three-straight seasons, playing multiple positions in the Chargers defense.

The Eagles definitely need help at the position after losing Kamu Gregier-Hill in free agency and releasing Nigel Bradham earlier in the offseason.
