Eagles to Open 2021 Season in Atlanta
The NFL has “leaked” the first Eagles game and opponent of the season.
For the third time since 2015, Philadelphia open the season against the Matt Ryan and the Falcons, traveling to Atlanta in Week One.
The game is scheduled for 1 p.m. on September 12.
The Eagles have what is considered to be the easiest schedule in the NFL and taking on the Atlanta should give us some indication of what kind of team first-year coach Nick Sirianni has this season.
The Falcons finished the 2020 season 4-12, and added Florida tight end, or offensive weapon, Kyle Pitts in with the No. 4 overall pick in April's NFL Draft.
Meanwhile, the Eagles struggled to a 4-11-1 mark, which resulted in them parting ways with both Doug Pederson and Carson Wentz.
Here are a few of the other games that have been leaked so far:
Week 1: @ Atlanta
Week 2: vs San Francisco
Week 7: @ Vegas
Week 11: vs Saints
Week 12: @ Giants
Week 16: vs Giants
Week 18: vs Dallas
Some other games that have been "leaked" include the Thursday night season opener, with the Dallas Cowboys facing the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Former Eagles QB Carson Wentz will make his Colts debut hosting the Seattle Seahawks. Another entertaining game in Week 1 will be the Chiefs hosting the Browns and on Monday Night, the Raiders will host the Ravens.
Another interesting match up includes former Jets QB Sam Darnold facing his old team, the Jets, which will be the first time we see No. 2 overall pick, Zach Wilson.
The rest of the 2021 NFL schedule will be released at 8 p.m. keep checking back for leaks here at 973espn.com and listen to the Sports Bash with Mike Gill today at 2 p.m. for more.
