Eagles Trade Two of Their Three First-Round Picks
The Los Angles Rams have won the Super Bowl, meaning the 2021 season is officially in the books.
Now its time to put full focus on the offseason with free agency and the NFL Draft taking center stage.
We all know by now that the Eagles have three first-round picks in the upcoming draft, but will they make all three picks?
Not according to the latest mock draft over at Pro Football Focus, who has the Eagles trading two of the picks to obtain Settle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson. PFF has the Eagles sending two of their three, first-round picks for Wilson leaving the Eagles with just pick No. 16 (from Indianapolis) and taking Utah linebacker Devin Lloyd.
The Eagles’ offense should be set with Russell Wilson, and so they turn their attention to a guy who can make an immediate impact on the defensive side of the ball. Lloyd earned grades above 80.0 in run defense, coverage and as a pass-rusher last season.
Lloyd is the No. 1 ranked linebacker in this years draft and the 11th ranked player overall, to land him with the No. 16 pick would be a great addition to Jonathan Gannon's defense. He is a guy who can play in space and has been compared to 49ers linebacker Fred Warner, who is the centerpiece of one of the best defenses in football.
