Flyers-Devils Preview: Home and Home
The feelings from a six-game points streak were quickly erased over the weekend. Losses on back-to-back nights against the Rangers and Islanders put a halt to the Flyers push to get back into the playoff picture and made it more of an uphill climb once again.
As the month of January winds down, the Flyers have three more games this week, all of them against familiar opponents. It starts on Monday night with the first game of a home-and-home with the New Jersey Devils, a team the Flyers just defeated eight days ago.
Game time is 7 p.m.

Jack Hughes scored the game-winning goal in overtime against Montreal on Saturday. He has points in back-to-back games after going two games without a point. The Flyers held Hughes off the scoresheet on Jan. 18 in their 3-1 win.
Sam Ersson gets the start for the Flyers. Ersson took the loss against the Rangers on Thursday, allowing five goals on 36 shots. That loss snapped a five-game winning streak for Ersson. Part of that winning streak was a win over the Devils on Jan. 18, where he allowed one goal on 13 shots.
Jake Allen gets the start for the Devils. Allen made 29 saves on 32 shots in his last start, a win over Montreal on Saturday. Allen has wins in back-to-back games after taking the loss to the Flyers on Jan. 18, allowing two goals on 17 shots.
